Projects Details
This project created a testing board for aerospace harnesses where repeatability and reliability are critical to trusted test results.
The challenge was to digitise a library of testing devices so they could be created on demand rather than assembled manually and stored physically.
Q5D developed a method that replaces a warehouse of mostly obsolete test boards assembled by hand on framed solid sheets with connectors mounted on the front.
A CAD file defines all wire paths and termination points, making the device easier to create, reproduce and adapt to other designs.
The resulting test devices can be recreated from a digital file in a repeatable way to ensure testing is fast and reliable.
Benefits
- Digitised test board production
- Replaces manual board assembly
- Reduces reliance on physical stockholding
- Repeatable creation from CAD data
- Fast and reliable test device production
- Easy adaptation to revised designs
