A wire trap harness uses grooves or traps in a moulded or formed part to retain and protect wires. The part itself becomes the retention and protection structure for the electrical assembly.
How it works
Wires are placed into wire traps formed in or on the part. These features retain and protect the wires through installation and throughout the product lifetime. The method is suited to parts where wire density, packaging or protection requirements make integrated retention beneficial.
Applications
- Industrial control panels
- Automotive exterior mirrors
- Automotive exterior trim
- Battery management systems
- Drone and UAV manufacturing

Benefits
- Ideal where wire density is high
- Protects wires through installation and lifetime use
- Suitable for 3D shaped parts
- Compatible with robotic assembly
- Supports rapid scaling and fast deployment
- Enables adaptive, digital manufacturing
